Our Mission ... 

    Bland Street United Methodist Church exists...

        to GATHER as God's people,

        to GROW in faith, love and service and

        to GO into the world and make disicples.

Communion service is the first Sunday of every month.

A congretational luncheon is the second Sunday of every month, except July & August, immediately following the worship service in  our Fellowship Hall, and weather permitting during the winter months.

Outreach Ministry - Our serving of meals for the Union Mission has been a successful venture. We have a corps of loyal volunteers participating the third Thursday of each month. If you would like to be a volunteer, call the church office.

United Methodist Women:

The United Methodist Women meet various times during the month;  Circles #1 meet at the church on the 1st Tuesday at 1:00 pm, Circle #2 meet at the church on the 1st Wednesday at 1:00 pm and Circle #3 meet in the evening at members' homes. They are members of the Southern District UMW and have annual meetings with the district and the state UMW.

The Spice/Tops is a group of women who do various kind deeds within the church.  They meet on the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month, weather permitting, @ 12:00 pm with a bag lunch and a short devotional/meeting afterwards. An open invitation for anyone wishing to participate. They usually take a spring and fall trip, with different luncheon arrangements from time to time.

CYCLE Ministry -(Cradle, Youth, College, Loving Everyone) are prayer pals that pray daily for an "adopted" child throughout the school year and sends cards of encouragement once a month. Let's remember our children and lift them in our prayers.

Our Parish consists of 5 local United Methodist Churches that support the local missions, including Mary's Cradle, McDowell Mission and the Bluefield Union Mission.

An interdenominational Men's Prayer/Bible study group meets on Wednesday mornings @7:00am.

Our United Methodist Youth Fellowship (UMYF) meet every Sunday @ 6:00 pm. They are involved with helping in mission events and church events. They do various mission projects throughout the year. In January, they travel to Gatlinburg TN to be a part of "Resurrection",  youth retreat.

Small Groups have various studies for members and non-members.

Our Pastor is in the church office Tuesday-Friday, office hours are 8:30-4:00 pm, phone number is 304-325-9184.

We have a Preschool that operates 8:30-11:30 and an after school program for middle school aged children from 2:30-5:00.
